I am 6 Months Old!

I turned 6 months old on December 4th. Mommy and Daddy tell me they can't believe how fast I am growing! I weigh 16lbs 10oz and I am 25 inches long. I have quite the personality and I love to grab for everything, pull my socks off and shake my head "no" a lot. I am able to sit up now and I love doing this! I still haven't rolled over yet, but I really have no desire to. I am much more comfortable on my back. I have started eating solids and so far I have eaten rice cereal, bananas and carrots. I can't wait to try some new things because I don't really care for the carrots that much. I am sleeping pretty well, but since I have been waking up so early, the doctor said Mommy and Daddy need to let me cry a little bit and soothe myself back to sleep in the early mornings. I don't think I am going to like this too much. It shouldn't be long now until I start crawling. I can't wait to get around the house and explore! I heard Mommy say something about baby gates the other day...that doesn't sound too fun for me! Well...I think that is about all for now. I am discovering new things everyday and learn a lot from my friends at Presleybrooke. I am having 6 month pictures taken next weekend and I'll be sure to share those soon!

Christmas Trees

I just love Christmas time and I love putting up all of my decorations around the house. This year, we have 3 trees and it has been so fun adding new things to them. I love all of my trees, but I especially love Caleigh's tree this year. It is just so fun and girly.

This is the tree in our bonus room. I wanted to put funky colors in there this year and I loved the ribbon and ornaments I found at Michael's. I am still adding some finishing touches, but it is pretty much finished.

This is the tree in our family room downstairs. We had always bought live Christmas trees in the past, but last year we decided to buy an artificial tree and we think it looks just like a "real" tree.

And last but also our FAVORITE...Caleigh's tree! I knew I wanted to do pink, green and white and I found some ornaments to get her started this year. I have a few more to add as well.

Santa Babies

We met my family in Charlotte a couple of weekends ago to shop and spend time together. Kinsley and Caleigh got to visit with Santa at the Southpark Mall and they had a blast. Caleigh loved pulling on Santa's beard and she just smiled so big! We took Caleigh again this past weekend to sit on Santa's lap with her little cousins and she fell fast asleep in Santa's arms. I'll have to post a picture of that soon!

Happy Thanksgiving

We had so much to be thankful for this year on Thanksgiving. We are so thankful for our family, friends, health and most of all our precious little girl. It was so much fun having Caleigh with us this year. We thought a lot about what this year would be like having a baby and it was great to share this joy with our family. We had a big crowd here in Raleigh for Thanksgiving this year at my parents' house, but it was fun to see all of the little kids play together and have all of our family together. Caleigh slept right through the meal and had no clue what the excitement was all about. Next year will be a different story since Caleigh will be running around and able to try some turkey!

Caleigh playing with Cousin Dean
The ladies always go shopping on Black Friday and wear their Christmas attire. It is always fun to see what everyone is going to have on. It was fun to dress Caleigh up this year in her christmas outfit and take her on the shopping trip. We don't get out really early like most people, but we did manage to go to the mall and the parking was crazy. Caleigh was such a little trooper and managed to stay out with us for a full day. She loves to shop already. She is definitely my little girl! All of the little cousins went to see Santa too. Caleigh was doing fine, but when we got up to sit on Santa's lap, she went right to sleep in Santa's arms. It was too cute and I guess she felt very comfortable with Santa Claus!

Rice Cereal

Caleigh has been eating rice cereal for several weeks now, but she has really started to enjoy it more lately. Since Brian is working a lot right now during his busy season, she and mommy enjoy girl time together in the evenings while she eats her cereal. She makes all sorts of funny faces and just giggles when you put the cereal in her mouth. She will be 6 months old next week and will start solid foods. I bet she is going to love bananas and carrots! We are hoping that by feeding her cereal and solid foods more throughout the day that she will sleep better again. She has been in a habit of taking a really long evening nap and then waking up VERY early in the morning! We love it though and wouldn't trade life with her for anything!

Aunt Amy's Visit

Aunt Amy came to visit this past weekend and Caleigh loved meeting her "GAA GAA" (Aunt Amy didn't want to be called Great Aunt Amy so they came up with GAA GAA). It sounds very cute! Aunt Amy and Grandma kept Caleigh all day Friday and they all had a great time. Caleigh warmed up to her GAA GAA immediately and gave her a big smile! She enjoyed reading books with her too. We went out to dinner on Saturday night at Biaggi's in Cary. Caleigh was very good and ended up falling asleep at the table. We were sad to see Aunt Amy leave, but she'll be back for almost a week in February! Thanks again for the cute outfits and ladybug Aunt Amy and thanks to Grandma for the pictures because I went off and left my camera at home!

Happy Halloween

We had so much fun for Caleigh's first Halloween this year. Even though she was a little too young to understand what was going on, she still had a big day! We started off the day out to lunch with Uncle Matt. Then, we took her to see both sets of grandparents last night and she went trick or treating to a few of the neighbors' houses in their neighborhood. Caleigh was a ladybug and she actually liked having her costume on. It was so hot here that she started to burn up so we had to take her costume off after a little while. I even got crafty yesterday and made Caleigh's candy bucket. I got the idea off of another blog and was able to make one that looked very similar. She'll have to use it next year since the candy this year was really for mommy and daddy. Caleigh was exhausted by the end of the night, but she got lots of Halloween treats from family and friends and she loved them!
