Uncle Travis Birthday Celebration!

Last Sunday, we celebrated Uncle Travis's birthday! We had a good time and Caleigh always loves getting to eat cake. Travis requested that Brian make his famous steaks with blue cheese sauce so that's what we did and the meal was great! Happy Birthday Travis!

Pumpkin Patch

Yesterday, we went with The Earnhardt's to Green Acres Farm in Cary. They had so many things for the girls to do. The girls got to go through a mini corn maze, play on a swingset, ride on the hayride and see cows, and pick out pumpkins! Julia and Bryan brought their wagon for the girls to ride in, but needless to say they didn't last too long in there. Caleigh just wanted to walk everywhere!

Caroline and Caleigh...Best Friends

Then, Caleigh was off to find the next adventure!

Caleigh would have stayed on these swings all day if i let her...

Caleigh thought she would climb on one...oh dear!

Finally able to get one of the girls smiling!

We were nearing lunch and naptime at this point...Caleigh picked out a mini pumpkin and she thinks it is a "ball." She says "ball" and throws it all over the house. Poor little pumpkin!

We had a great time at Green Acres Farm and enjoyed watching Caleigh and Caroline play together! Maybe this will be a tradition...Thanks for going with us Julia, Bryan and Caroline!

NC State Fair 2010

My parents, Brian and I took Caleigh to the State Fair yesterday afternoon. We had heard about all of the food hype before we even got there. For instance, the Krispy Kreme Burger, fried butter, and a footlong corn dog. The fair is also the best place to people-watch and take in the sights and smells of a true state fair. We started off with the fried mac n' cheese and Caleigh really enjoyed her bites of this. Next, we headed over to the kiddie park so Caleigh could ride a few rides. First, we rode the cars. Caleigh was happy as long as the cars were moving!

She wasn't too sure when they started...it was a bumpy ride!

Next up was the fire truck that went really high up in the air and circled back down.

"Hey down there Daddy and Grandaddy"

Caleigh didn't quite understand that she had to sit down for this ride...

"See you guys back on the ground"

Next was the Carousel! To say Caleigh loved this ride would be an understatement...She rode twice! To see the expressions on her little face everytime she came around was priceless and worth the price of the tickets! I was able to ride one time around, but after eating a lot of "junk" my stomach couldn't handle another ride around. Brian also refused to ride any rides so Grammy stepped in and rode again.

This is when the meltdowns began...when the rides were over and a certain little girl was exhausted. Caleigh enjoyed some mini-donuts after this and I must say they were yummy!

Had to get a picture with Big Bird regardless...

She would have been so cute with the pumpkins...should have taken these pictures first!

I was finally able to get Brian in on a picture with Clifford. He thought I had lost my mind at this point. We really enjoyed our time at the fair, although brief because Caleigh needed to get to bed, but we can't wait to go back again next year!

Little Steelers Fan

Caleigh's Grandma and Grandpa got her a Steeler's cheerleading outfit and she has been so excited to wear it for game days. I believe we have a little cheerleader in the making! Go STEELERS!

Afternoon at the park

The weather has been so nice around here so we decided to take Caleigh to the park last Sunday afternoon. We had been planning to take her because she loves being outside.

She had to start with the swings first...

Then on to explore the playground...

I like these steps a lot...

This running in the sand thing is pretty fun too...

Daddy, I think I can try these steps on my own this time...

And, we'll try to forget the major tantrum that occurred when we had to leave the park. We'll just think about how much fun we had and hope to go back again soon!

Kristen's Baby Shower

A group of us got together and hosted a baby shower for Kristen last weekend. Little Foster is due in the next month and we are excited to finally have a little boy to add to this mix of girls! We had a really good time at the shower and Kristen got a lot of cute things for her little boy. The theme was jungle animals and this matches the cute nursery. I didn't get a group shot because my camera died, but I got some good pictures of the decorations and of the mommy-to-be!

15 Months Old

We are a little behind in posting, but Caleigh is now 15 months old! I know I always say this at every age, but we really can't believe how fast our little girl has grown and changed! We love her personality and the way she always makes us laugh. We have entertainment 100% of the time now! So, what is Caleigh doing these days?

She weighs 22lbs and is 30 1/4 inches tall. She is walking like a champ and has even started to run a little bit lately. She moves quickly and is constantly on the go. We never see her stop! She is very curious about things and likes to figure things out. She LOVES spending time in the refrigerator and pantry. The girl can eat! Caleigh's favorite foods lately are chicken nuggets, mac n' cheese, waffles, cheese, pears, bananas, ravioli, fish sticks and anything sweet.

She is finally starting to grow some hair, but she refuses the bows! She loves to say "bow" and play with them, but that's about it. Mommy is hoping she'll wear bows one day!

Caleigh is constantly babbling and talking. Her favorite words are bye bye, momma, dada, dog, eyes, uh oh, up, more, mi mi (she says this for a lot of things so not sure what she is referring to) and hi. Her vocabulary grows more and more each day. It is fun to see what she learns. She loves to blow kisses now and we have to do this and say bye bye to our friends at school each day.

She loves her shoes and has so many to choose from now that her foot has finally grown. She can go to the drawer where we keep them and pull out what she wants.

This little girl has captured our hearts and we can't imagine life without her. What a blessing we have been given and we cherish her everyday!
