Halloween Festivities

We had a very fun and busy weekend full of Halloween festivities! On Saturday, Julia, Melissa and I got the girls together for a little party. First, the mommies slipped away to go to the hospital and visit Kristen and John and to meet their newest addition Foster. He is precious and they are such a happy family! I can't even remember Caleigh being that small. The daddies seem to have managed the girls pretty good considering none of them had gotten their nap in and the house had plenty of sweet treats! Layla and Caroline dressed up for us before we left.

Best picture we managed to get of the girls...Caleigh, Caroline and Layla

Today, we started off the day at church since my brother was singing for the service. He did great and Caleigh even managed to stay in the nursery the whole service...she wasn't happy about it...but at least we didn't get paged 5 minutes in like past times. She had her good friend Wyatt there too to play with!

After we had lunch and Caleigh got her nap in, we headed over to Brian's parents. This was a very special weekend because Matt and Emily got engaged in Wrightsville Beach. We could not be happier for them and we know we are gaining a wonderful new addition to the family! The proposal sounded very romantic on the beach and both Matt and Emily were just glowing today! Caleigh also got to dress up in her piggy costume and parade around the house while we all sat back and laughed at how cute she looked!

Special cake for the engagement

Caleigh was excited for cake...as usual!

This little piggy went to the market...

And this little piggy went home...

This little piggy had roast beef...

And this little piggy had none...

And this little piggy cried "wee wee wee" all the way home...(This little piggy also happens to be flying with Grandma)

After we left this celebration, we headed up to my parents house to see them and my brother. The little piggy had to make another appearance! They laughed as hard as everyone else did. She just looked too cute! Then, we finally made it back home in time to go trick or treating on our street. Unfortunately, I was too busy making sure Caleigh didn't take the whole bowl of candy at each house to get any pictures. She did say "trick or treat" once and we were so proud. She did a good job and looked so grown up walking down the street with her candy bucket. Our little pink piggy is now pooped out and fast asleep! What a fun Halloween this has been!

Caleigh and Mommy again...we are so sorry we didn't get Daddy in the pictures! We'll have to take some more with him! He really was around the whole time but was taking the pictures a lot of the time!

Uncle Travis Birthday Celebration!

Last Sunday, we celebrated Uncle Travis's birthday! We had a good time and Caleigh always loves getting to eat cake. Travis requested that Brian make his famous steaks with blue cheese sauce so that's what we did and the meal was great! Happy Birthday Travis!

Pumpkin Patch

Yesterday, we went with The Earnhardt's to Green Acres Farm in Cary. They had so many things for the girls to do. The girls got to go through a mini corn maze, play on a swingset, ride on the hayride and see cows, and pick out pumpkins! Julia and Bryan brought their wagon for the girls to ride in, but needless to say they didn't last too long in there. Caleigh just wanted to walk everywhere!

Caroline and Caleigh...Best Friends

Then, Caleigh was off to find the next adventure!

Caleigh would have stayed on these swings all day if i let her...

Caroline exploring the pumpkin patch

Caleigh thought she would climb on one...oh dear!

Finally able to get one of the girls smiling!

We were nearing lunch and naptime at this point...Caleigh picked out a mini pumpkin and she thinks it is a "ball." She says "ball" and throws it all over the house. Poor little pumpkin!

We had a great time at Green Acres Farm and enjoyed watching Caleigh and Caroline play together! Maybe this will be a tradition...Thanks for going with us Julia, Bryan and Caroline!

NC State Fair 2010

My parents, Brian and I took Caleigh to the State Fair yesterday afternoon. We had heard about all of the food hype before we even got there. For instance, the Krispy Kreme Burger, fried butter, and a footlong corn dog. The fair is also the best place to people-watch and take in the sights and smells of a true state fair. We started off with the fried mac n' cheese and Caleigh really enjoyed her bites of this. Next, we headed over to the kiddie park so Caleigh could ride a few rides. First, we rode the cars. Caleigh was happy as long as the cars were moving!

She wasn't too sure when they started...it was a bumpy ride!

Next up was the fire truck that went really high up in the air and circled back down.

"Hey down there Daddy and Grandaddy"

Caleigh didn't quite understand that she had to sit down for this ride...

"See you guys back on the ground"

Next was the Carousel! To say Caleigh loved this ride would be an understatement...She rode twice! To see the expressions on her little face everytime she came around was priceless and worth the price of the tickets! I was able to ride one time around, but after eating a lot of "junk" my stomach couldn't handle another ride around. Brian also refused to ride any rides so Grammy stepped in and rode again.

This is when the meltdowns began...when the rides were over and a certain little girl was exhausted. Caleigh enjoyed some mini-donuts after this and I must say they were yummy!

Had to get a picture with Big Bird regardless...

She would have been so cute with the pumpkins...should have taken these pictures first!

I was finally able to get Brian in on a picture with Clifford. He thought I had lost my mind at this point. We really enjoyed our time at the fair, although brief because Caleigh needed to get to bed, but we can't wait to go back again next year!

Little Steelers Fan

Caleigh's Grandma and Grandpa got her a Steeler's cheerleading outfit and she has been so excited to wear it for game days. I believe we have a little cheerleader in the making! Go STEELERS!
